For the AP Bio test, students have to get really proficient at analyzing experiments/data and justifying claims with evidence and reasoning. HHMI Data Points make a perfect launching pad for helping students think through information.
Data Points come with educator + teacher versions of material, but I don't always like all the questions, and I also prefer to save paper by transferring everything into Google Classroom.
Finches, fish schooling, & carbon dioxide all require students to write CERs in addition to completing data analysis. Minimal background knowledge is needed, other than basic understanding of natural selection (finches), why carbon dioxide levels have increased since the Industrial Revolution (carbon dioxide), and the very basics of carbon movement during photosynthesis & cell respiration (carbon dioxide).
Beta amyloid & myeloid leukemia are just data analysis. No background knowledge needed, but students should understand basic experimental design (variables, what it means to be statistically significant, sample size, etc)
Answer keys included for all worksheets.
