This is a single 2-page worksheet covering entropy. Page one is qualitative, where students look at chemical reactions or particle-level diagrams to predict the sign of the value of entropy, ΔS. On page two students will use standard entropies to calculate ΔG for a series of reactions. A QR code linking entropy data is included for convenience. As a bonus, a full thermodynamic data table is included at the end of this document.

This product is designed to help students prepare for the following learning objectives/science practices:
•Learning Objective 5.12: The student is able to use representations and models to predict the sign and relative magnitude of the entropy change associated with chemical or physical processes.
•Learning Objective 5.13: The student is able to predict whether or not a physical or chemical process is thermodynamically favored by determination of (either quantitatively or qualitatively) the signs of both ΔH and ΔS, and calculation or estimation of ΔS when needed.
