This is a single 2-page worksheet covering Gibbs Free Energy. Students will determine whether a reaction is spontaneous or non spontaneous based on both temperature, enthalpy and entropy of a reaction. Students will also determine the value of ΔG using a table of standard values. A QR code linking all thernodynamic data is included for convenience. As a bonus, a full thermodynamic data table is included at the end of this document.
Answer key is included.
The download includes a handout master (.pdf) that includes one worksheet, answer key, and table of selected thermochemical data (ΔH, ΔG, and S)
This product is designed to help students prepare for the following learning objectives/science practices:
•Learning Objective 5.14: The student is able to predict whether a chemical or physical process is thermodynamically favorable by calculating the change in standard Gibbs free energy.
While designed specifically for AP Chemistry, this product is also useful for any level of chemistry that covers Gibbs Free Energy (honors, IB, college).
