My AP English Language and Composition students often seek study material for the test. While it's a process-based, not content-based, test, I have created material for them to review to recall processes they can use, especially if they freeze or are exhausted by the end of the lengthy test.
This pdf is a "tips and tricks" sheet for each of the three free response essays: the synthesis, the rhetorical analysis, and the argument persuasive essay. It includes short examples of prompts as well as mnemonic devices for prewriting, including SOAPSTone and CHELPSS. Each essay has a one page, 2-sided check list that I print and give to students to give them something tangible to hold on to and study. It can function as a sort of study guide for the AP English Language timed essays.
