This unit is designed with the intention of preparing students with different skills that will be used throughout the entire year. For instance, the "Amped Up Cornell Notes" are the note taking strategy for the whole year; the 5 different "Skills Warm Ups" will be used to begin class the whole year; and the overview of the Short Answer Questions (SAQ) derived from the unit lesson objectives will be used throughout the year. The primary source mnemonic "GRAPES" I created and is a particularly useful skill for the whole year when analyzing primary sources (6 are included in this lesson) and makes for a fun introduction lesson when you bring grapes into the class and eat while you learn. The primary sources included in the unit also provides a comparison SAQ of art from the earlier Middle Ages with art from the High Middle Ages. This unit really brings the High Middle Ages to a colorful, vibrant life and starts the year off on a very positive note. The document that you will receive with this unit includes digital links to all readings, powerpoints, and worksheets. If you have any issues with any of this you can email me and we will clear it up: firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, I have not included the unit exam with the product, but if you want it email me and I will send it along.
