I love using TED Talks with my AP Government students as a way to facilitate discussion and delve deeper into the content of the course. This resource is one I have created for my own students and am excited to share with you!
Included in this resource are:
**Basic information about the TED Talk and a link
**An original summary of the talk geared towards a government class
**Relevant vocabulary and applicable units from the redesigned course
**Discussion questions for students to complete (These can be used for discussion, individual classwork, or homework.)
This is a great resource to use as a homework assignment or substitute teacher activity, as well as a daily activity or warm up for a longer class (suggested lesson duration: 15-30 min). Liu's project "The Joy of Voting" may also be a great jumping off point to inspire students for a possible civics project for the redesigned course.
I hope you enjoy using this product with your students!
