AP Language and Composition is a full year course designed to be the equivalent of a first year college composition course. Students will learn to read and evaluate writing from a critical analysis perspective. The course emphasizes independent work and intensive study in a variety of genres and contexts, impromptu writing, and critical analysis. Student will analyze a work’s structure, style, and theme along with other elements of writing such as diction, symbolism, and tone. The course textbook, along with complete publication data, are listed in the Teacher Resources section at the end of this syllabus.
