Description

This 10-point quiz is modeled after the College Board's AP® Lit exam, using an excerpt of text, in this case Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, and challenging questions about the passage. The questions were meticulously researched and modeled after released AP® exams from past years, so students can get solid preparation for the AP® Lit exam. These questions have been updated to reflect the newest changes to the AP® Lit exam.

This resource can be used in conjunction with a study of Frankenstein, but it doesn't have to! Students will have to read unfamiliar texts on the AP® exam, so prior knowledge isn't necessary to answer any of these questions. I have included two versions of the text passage, one with a prompt providing context, for those who are giving this quiz to students who haven't read Frankenstein. The other provides no context and it could be given during or at the end of the reading of Frankenstein. It is also included in my best-selling Frankenstein unit bundle.

Best of all, this quiz comes with a detailed answer key. Rather than just giving the right answer, the answer key explains WHY it is right, and why all of the other choices are wrong. Students will learn from this practice quiz better than your average AP® practice test!

For those teaching virtually, this quiz is also available through Google Forms to be assigned through Google Classroom. A link is included with this download.
