As part of my AP Literature curriculum expectations, students are expected to complete numerous independent readings and analyses in order to prepare for the AP exam and college courses. In an effort to aid students in practicing their critical reading skills, I have created a project that allows students to choose a major work to study and create a visual representation of the work. Each student chooses a different work (drama, novel, epic poem) and presents their analysis and visual aid to the class.

Practice AP essay rubric
The practice AP essay rubric allows teachers to grade on the 9 point AP scale and convert that score into a more accessible score suitable for gradebooks on the 7 point scale. This helps students better understand where they lie with their essays.
