Product Description

Students will practice writing the third free response question on the AP Literature exam. The prompt provided is from the 2017 AP Lit exam, provided by the College Board, in which students are asked to analyze a character's mysterious origins. First, students will break down what the prompt is asking into three questions. Then, they will answer those questions with their text. Next, they will outline their introduction by planning out their hook, intro to the text, intro to the argument, and thesis. Finally, they will write their paragraph. I have provided an example using To Kill a Mockingbird. My students used Beloved, but this worksheet could be easily manipulated to fit any text.
