Updated to include proper terminology for DSM-5!
Students are given one psychological disorder and three psychological perspectives and asked to explain how psychologists of these perspectives (psychoanalytical, behavioral, cognitive, biomedical, sociocultural, evolutionary, or humanistic) would explain the causes behind their assigned disorder. Students then explain the benefits and drawbacks of the selected viewpoints, and argue which perspective they agree with and why. Students group up and compare their viewpoints, and then the groups share out to the class.
