Circadian neuroscientist, Russell Foster, discusses why we sleep and how our opinion of sleep has changed over time. He discusses different myths with sleep and he also looks at the connection of sleep loss and mental health. This TED Talk is just shy of 22 minutes and is great for a class assignment or homework during the Levels of Consciousness Unit. This could also be used during the Abnormal Psych Unit since it does examine the connection of sleep and mental illness. It would also be beneficial for a Health class as well.
