Justin Baldoni's TED Talk examines the need for our society redefine masculinity. Justin is known for his role on "Jane the Virgin" and he looks at how even his roles have shaped how Hollywood sees him. He looks at the importance of being able to be vulnerable and how we need to reexamine our gender roles in society. His engaging talk looks at personal points in his life and how being vulnerable has led to him being free from shame that had marked his life. He even looks at what it means for men to speak up, he references the "Me Too" movement and the role men need to play, and how men can also be feminists.
This talk would be great when discussing gender roles in AP Psychology's Personality Unit or during the Gender & Sexuality Unit for Sociology. This would also be beneficial for any class when discussing the importance of authenticity.
