This is an AP-style reading practice that I use with my Spanish 3 classes. It is a cited article from People Espanol that is followed by 8 multiple-choice questions based on demonstrating proficiency in reading comprehension. Questions include vocabulary comprehension, the ability to infer the main idea, and Costa's upper-level questions based on understanding the relevancy of the information.
Three of the questions are based on a Ruben Blades quote on his music as the voice of the people, with some testing of por v para.
The activity is scaffolded to prompt students to mark the text where they find information relevant to the questions, in order to help the students develop solid testing strategies, and good time management.
See preview for a sample, and the article is best for Spanish 3-5
