This two-week unit plan has been designed for an AP Spanish Literature and Culture course. After completing a unit related the Spanish Medieval masterworks, we are now chronologically moving towards the Spanish Golden Age. We are continuing to present the Spanish literary canon, this time to focus on Miguel de Cervantes most recognized literary piece: Don Quixote de la Mancha, part of the College Board reading list for the examinations. The objective of this unit plan is to introduce students to the novel, ultimately learning about the author, literary devices employed, and time the piece was created. The unit will be culminating with a critical commentary as a formative assessment. Students will be working through the writing process to elaborate a critical review in accordance with the rubric and guidelines provided by College Board.
