Description
This bundle is under construction. I am updating/improving the notes and adding new assignments and lesson quizzes. It will be finished July 2019.
This Bundle contains lessons 5-9 in the Descriptive Statistics Unit in AP Statstics.
Lesson 5:
Students will:
-Be introduced to key vocabulary
-Locate and interpret the percentile of an individual in a distribution
-Use a cumulative frequency graph to estimate percentiles of an individual
-Calculate and interpret the standardized score (z-score) of an observation in a
distribution of data
Lesson 6:
Students will:
-Be introduced to key vocabulary
-Calculate Statistics with Technology
-Describe how transforming the data by adding, subtracting, multiplying, or
dividing by a constant impacts the distribution’s shape, center, and spread
Lesson 7:
Students will:
-Be introduced to key vocabulary
-Describe the relative location of the mean and median on a density curve
-Use the Empirical Rule to estimate the areas in a Normal Distribution
Lesson 8:
Students will:
-Use Table A to find z-scores from a percentile or areas (in a specified interval) in
a standard Normal distribution
-Use Table A to find a value that corresponds to a certain percentile in a standard
Normal distribution
Lesson 9:
Students will:
-Use Table A to find a value that corresponds to a certain percentile in a standard
Normal distribution
-Use technology to find the proportion of observations in a specified interval
-Use technology to find an observation or z-score that corresponds to a given
percentile
In addition to the guided notes (foldable book notes or regular guided notes), the following is included:
SMARTnotebook file for the teacher to fill in with the students
Homework/Classwork
These lessons are set up to have the teacher lead the students through the note-taking process while incorporating examples for the students to try. The answer keys are provided. I will also be making videos that take the student through the lesson for those that flip their classroom or for absent students.
