This contains the third and fourth lessons of the Experimental Design Unit for AP Statistics.
-Define critical vocabulary
-Describe the difference between an observational study and an experiment
-Identify the experimental units, explanatory variable, response variable, and
treatments in an experiment
-Understand the necessity of comparison, random assignment, control, and
replication in a well designed experiment
-Describe and design a completely randomized experiment
-Describe and design a block design (matched pairs)
-Explain what is possible or not possible to infer about a study
In addition to the guided notes (foldable book notes or regular guided notes), the following is included:
-SMARTnotebook file for the teacher to fill in with the students
2 Homework/Classworsk are included.
This lesson is set up to have the teacher lead the students through the note-taking process while incorporating examples for the students to try. The answer key is provided with the pages numbered. I will also be making videos that take the student through the lesson for those that flip their classroom or for absent students.
