This is the 6th lesson in the Probability Unit. In this lesson students will calculate the effect on a distribution when adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing by a constant to a random variable. They will calculate the mean and standard deviation of the sum of independent random variables. They will calculate the probabilities of the sum of independent normal random variables. These lessons are set up to have the teacher lead the students through the note-taking process while incorporating examples for the students to try. The answer keys are provided. Homework will be added shortly at not additional cost to those who purchase before. I will also be making videos that take the student through the lesson for those that flip their classroom or for absent students. SMART notebook files are included for the teacher to fill in with the class.
