This is the 5th lesson in the Probability Unit. In this lesson students be exposed to the key vocabulary terms, they will calculate probabilities using a probability distribution, calculate the mean and standard deviation of a discrete random variable, interpret the mean and standard deviation in context, graphically display a probability distribution, and use normal approximation to calculate the probability of a continuous random variable. These lessons are set up to have the teacher lead the students through the note-taking process while incorporating examples for the students to try. The answer keys are provided. Homework will be added shortly at not additional cost to those who purchase before. I will also be making videos that take the student through the lesson for those that flip their classroom or for absent students. SMART notebook files are included for the teacher to fill in with the class.
