Standard rubric for the AP Studio Art: 2D Design Portfolio Breadth Section.
This rubric is very closely tied to the official AP Studio Art scoring criteria, and includes a self-assessment checklist that helps students better understand the opaque language of the official scoring criteria.
Rubric includes detailed checklists to help students self-assess:
A. Application of 2D Design Principles
B. Clear Design Intention or Approach
C. Originality and Innovative Thinking
D. Confident, Evocative Work that Engages the Viewer
E. Technical Competence & Skill with Materials
In addition to the rubric, the handout includes a place to take notes during class critique. Students must bullet point positive feedback and specific suggestions for improvements.
