Directions: The chart is intended to enable students to organize key ideas from each of the nine foundational documents for the AP US Government course re-design. It asks students to find the author’s primary argument, along with supporting statements. The chart will also ask them where this argument, or perspective, can be found in use or application within the government. Finally, it asks the students to consider a counter argument to the author’s perspective. This chart will engage their thinking process to prepare them for the argument essay in the free response section of the re-designed exam.
