PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In this lesson, students, working in groups, will analyze whether or not the United States had the right to annex the Philippines based on the assigned documents below. They will then decide on their own whether or not the United States had the right to add the Philippines. A timeline is also provided to provide students (and the teacher) a visual on America's overseas actions in the late 19th century and early 20th century.

(Note: This lesson could be used in a non-AP US History class.)
