In this week long lesson, students will be analyzing various primary and secondary sources that highlight the positives and negatives of using the atomic bombs. They will then formulate an analytical essay using primary and secondary sources. By the end of this essay, students will be able to formulate a position as to whether or not the use of the atomic bombs were necessary or unnecessary to end the war with Japan. A new DBQ rubric (2015) is attached for grading purposes.
