At the end of the year, after all of the testing, we often need a project to sum everything up. I decided to do a President Project. Each student is ASSIGNED a different President and they can create one of three items. This explains in detail 20 things that must be included in their project as well as three different ways that they may present their information. Their goal? To convince us that the President they are assigned was THE best President of the United States. A very detailed Rubric is included.I use this for my AP US History class, but I think it could be used for any class studying US History.
Please remember, this is something I use in MY class AFTER all the state testing (which is a lot in Texas) and after the APUSH exam. This is not an over the top, AP level assessment. I feel that by this time with only a couple of weeks of school left, the kids need a bit of a break. We have pretty much FINISHED for the year and this is a great filler while still being content based.
