Its crunch time before the course final and AP exam and these books will ensure your students are ready to go! This is one piece (focused solely on Native Americans) of a thematic bundle set that covers all the essential themes of the AP US History course. Every LE, DBQ, and short answer question on the AP exam is always related to the themes found in these books! As an AP teacher in a 75% title one school, these have really helped me get a much greater percentage of my students passing the test. I stand by them 100%. : )
Each booklet covers essential vocabulary on the events, people, concepts, and groups related to the theme of the book. It has timelines that enforce CCOT skills and that also ensure that students understand 'the big picture' for the theme in the larger context of American history.
It also includes three SAQ questions that hone in on the utmost essential ideas of that theme. Lastly, it has a modified DBQ activity with a prompt and two documents for students to practice writing paragraphs using documents and HIPPing them.
Each booklet would probably take between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours (depending on how much the student has prepared and retained throughout the year). They are great for in-class review, homework practice, or if you buy the whole bundle you can jigsaw them and have students present their findings for each group to the class for an interactive review activity.
