This short power point lesson is designed to introduce and help students practice identifying POV for the Document Based Question essay in AP World History. The lesson focuses on the 2010 DBQ prompt related to the mechanization of the cotton industry in Japan. The power point introduces students to the prompt and documents, provides a sample thesis statement, and then discusses the use of POV statements in your DBQ to ensure that it is being included. Students are then instructed to analyze documents 3 and 10 (one image and one written document) and write out their own POV statements based on their analysis of the documents.
