You will really be able to evaluate your students’ critical understanding of Shakespeare’s Hamlet with this extensive test.
The test is broken into three parts:
Part A - 35 Multiple Choice questions
Part B - Quotable Quotations (students choose 5 out of the 8 quotes and identify the speaker, listener, context, and significance for each)
Part C - Short Response to three of Hamlet’s soliloquies
Along with the test, the package also includes:
1. Hamlet Test Review sheet for students (so they can prepare). This includes a whole class activity to prepare for the quotation section.
2. Multiple Choice Answer Key (for students to record their answers).
3. Multiple Choice Answer Key (answers highlighted for the teacher)
4. Quotable Quotations sample responses (speaker and listener identified, and brief description of context and significance)
The test is organized in a way that you could easily give the test in two or three parts (which may be needed, depending on the length of your classes). Also, to cut down on photocopying, consider reusing the tests for future years. Students record their multiple choice answers on an Answer Key anyway, and the other sections can be completed on lined paper.
