In this zip file are two resources:
APA Citation Booklet: This booklet gives students an explanation for the necessity of citing sources, an explanation and image of a formatted References page, an explanation and example of parenthetical citations, and nine different types of sources to cite, each with a template and an example.
APA Citation Handout: This 4 page worksheet lists information in a randomized order for 6 of the sources explained in the booklet. Students are asked to put the information in order with correct punctuation as well as create a parenthetical citation for each source.
I've used this packet as bellringers and as an extended homework assignment to help students stay sharp on citation by paying close attention to detail and can be reused each year due to the general stability of the APA format.
NOTE: The booklet nor the handout goes into depth on more intricate citation needs, such as citing a journal in a database, so this is best used for 6-10th graders who are just being introduced to APA or to differentiate at the 11-12th grade levels.
