What?! A fun APA project? Here's a unique introduction to the APA Research Essay! This fun academic project allows the students to conduct their own primary research, calls for related secondary research, and culminates in a complete 6-8 page APA essay. (We follow the instructions and sample essay format on Purdue Owl.)
Students perform a personal/social experiment of their choosing for 3 days (giving up social media, breaking a social norm, quitting swearing, going vegan). After taking notes and doing research they create their APA essay.
They learn to write in APA format, conduct primary and secondary research, and learn a bit about themselves!
As a supplementary text I include chapters from AJ Jacob's GUINEA PIG DIARIES. (A super fun read available on Amazon)
Students love it.
