This product contains ELA Morning Work for April Fools' Day. The pages are a constructive and relevant way to begin the day, although the pages can be used at any time during the day.
Sheet 1 contains a four-paragraph article about some history of the day. Students read each paragraph and answer a multiple-choice question about it. The first one has students figuring out the correct sequence of the sentences in the paragraph, the second is a comprehension question, the third is a vocabulary word- context clue question, and the fourth is a main idea question.
Students list three facts (in full sentences) they learned from the article. (Sheet 1 is on two pages.)
Sheet 2 is also on two pages. It is ten sentences that must be rewritten to correct grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling errors.
There is an Extra Time activity at the end of this sheet.
The answers are on the last page.
