Even Advanced Placement Teachers need to have substitute plans every now and then. The challenge is often creating substitute lesson plans that are easy to follow, pertinent to the course, and do not create MORE work for the teacher! This lesson reflects the 2014-2015 course redesign and give the instructor lots of flexibility.
Films are a great teaching tool for substitutes but need to be made relevant to APUSH studies. This lesson can be used to accompany documentaries as well as historical dramas. The lesson is editable so instructors may feel free to add their own requirements in terms of quantity and rigor.
