PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This product includes products that are sold individually- 1) Pirate Prepositions, 2) ARGGHH!!!Category Pirate Game
3) ARGHHH!!!!!!Multisyllabic Treasure Chests, 4), Pirate: Comparative and Superlative and 5) ARGGHH Idioms

1) Pirate Prepositions
Have the students choose a card. Either the SLP or the students will read the card out loud. Then the student will place the card onto the correct preposition mat (e.g., under, above, etc.) or onto his/her individual mat. Or use the wordless cards and have the student tell you the preposition that is being used on the card.
You can also add the point value cards. Have a stack of point value cards and a stack of preposition cards so each student will draw two cards. If the student does not answer correctly, the student does not earn the points.
Game board can also be used as a reinforcement or to be used with the cards.
*Contains: 80 preposition picture and word cards, 80 picture cards, 4 individual mats (slide 3 and 4), 8 prepositional mats (slides 5-8), 8 point value card (slide 9), and one open-ended game board (slide 10).

2) ARGGHH!!!Category Pirate Game
Category Sorting Pirate Game
This game includes 22 different pirate ships with category names written on them. For each category, there are 8 picture cards that you can use for sorting and convergent naming tasks. After a student takes his/her turn, they get to put a card onto the appropriate pirate ship.
Other ideas to be used with these cards:
1) Category sorting- Students choose a card and determine what category it belongs to. If they are correct, they earn a treasure chest. The player with the most treasure chests (slide3) is the game winner.
2) Describing- SLP or student can describe a picture card to the entire group until someone answers correctly. That student may keep the card and place it on his/her mat (slide4). The student with the most cards, is the game winner.
3) Similarities/Differences- Choose two cards and have a student state at least two similarities and two differences.
4) Category Naming- Choose a category mat and have student name at least three items that belongs to the category.

3) ARGHHH!!!!!!Multisyllabic Treasure Chests
Directions:
Students will choose a card and determine how many syllables is in the given word and place it on the correct mat (2, 3, or 4 syllable treasure chest mat).

Contains:
- 3 syllable mats (2, 3, and 4 syllable treasure chest mat)
- 1 set of 2 syllable word cards with a key visual (30 cards)
- 1 set of 2 syllable picture and word card (30 cards)
- 1 set of 3 syllable word cards with a key visual (30 cards)
- 1 set of 3 syllable picture and word card (24 cards)
- 1 set of 4 syllable word card with a key visual (30 cards)
- 6 special cards
- 6 blank treasure chest cards to create your own words

4) Pirate: Comparative and Superlative
1. Point to the picture
Directions:
Print, laminate, and cut.
Students will choose a card and determine which picture object is bigger, biggest, smaller, or smallest.
Contains:
32 cards

2. State the Comparative or Superlative
Directions:
Students will choose two cards, one from the comparative/superlative pile and one from the word card pile.
The word cards have a treasure chest with a point value on the card. If the student correctly produces either the comparative or superlative, the student is able to keep their card and place it on their treasure chest mat.
The student with the most points at the end of the game, is the game winner.
Contains:
1 Informational slide
2 treasure chest mats
8 comparative cards (print as many as needed)
8 superlative cards (print as many as needed)
40 word cards
8 blank cards to create your own target words

3. Finish each sentence using a comparative and a superlative
Directions:
Print, laminate, and cut.
Students will choose a card and fill in the blank using a word ending –er, -est, or a phrase containing the word more or most.
The student with the most points/reinforcement cards at the end of the game, is the game winner.
Contains:
8 point value cards
8 blank parrot cards that can be used as reinforcement
24 word cards
8 blank cards to create your own target words

4. Choose the word that fits in the sentence
Directions:
Print, laminate, and cut.
Students will choose a card and choose a word that completes the sentence. If answered, correctly, they may place the card on their treasure mat.
The first player to collect all 8 objects is the game winner.
Contains:
2 mats
24 cards
8 blank cards to create your own target words

5. Tables/Worksheets
Contains:
2 tables to write in the comparative and superlative of a word
1 worksheet to underline the word that best fits
1 Crossword puzzle and an answer key

5) Idioms
Print all cards. Students play the game by drawing a card. Each card contains an idiom. The student must correctly explain the idiom to move along the game board. If they explain correctly the student is able to move, if not the student remains on the same spot.
This game can also be played as a matching game. Match the idiom with the definition card.
Complete the idiom. This can also be played as a memory game. A student will choose two cards and determine if the cards chosen complete the idiom (e.g., In hot…water). After the idiom is completed, the student can explain the meaning or use the idiom in a sentence.

-104 idiom and definition cards (52 idioms) plus 8 blank cards
-28 complete the idiom cards plus 8 blank cards
