Category Sorting Pirate Game
This game includes 22 different pirate ships with category names written on them. For each category, there are 8 picture cards that you can use for sorting and convergent naming tasks. After a student takes his/her turn, they get to put a card onto the appropriate pirate ship.
Other ideas to be used with these cards:
1) Category sorting- Students choose a card and determine what category it belongs to. If they are correct, they earn a treasure chest. The player with the most treasure chests (slide3) is the game winner.
2) Describing- SLP or student can describe a picture card to the entire group until someone answers correctly. That student may keep the card and place it on his/her mat (slide4). The student with the most cards, is the game winner.
3) Similarities/Differences- Choose two cards and have a student state at least two similarities and two differences.
4) Category Naming- Choose a category mat and have student name at least three items that belongs to the category.
