In this activity, students create their own Mini-Mee, which is a simplified, mini version of themselves made out of construction paper. This is a great character-building lesson which can focus on diversity, and also a great lesson to learn about your students.. Students love learning this process and will become absolutely absorbed with the tactile construction of their "Mini-Mee."
This lesson includes step-by-step directions and clear visuals and could be taught by anyone. Two student templates are included: simple shapes for younger students, and more complex shapes for older students. I have taught this to all ranges of Elementary and Middle School students, and this lesson is a home run!
