PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A fun twist on Jenga, which gets and keeps students engaged in articulation practice. Great for the nonreaders. Use these articulation picture strips to make your classic game of Jenga into a fun way for students to practice their articulation skills. There are 54 or more articulation picture strips for each position (initial, medial & final) of each articulation sound, one for each block in a standard Jenga game (sold separately at your local store). Black and white as well as color versions are included. You can pick both the phoneme and position or positions you want to target. Phonemes included are /K/, /G/, /S/,/L/,/R/, /SH/,/CH/.

PREPARATION:
Simply print on card stock, laminate and cut out the articulation picture strips.
Using 3/8 inch Velcro dots, Velcro one articulation picture strip onto the side of each Jenga block and you are ready to go.
Set up the game as usual by first setting up the tower. Place three blocks per layer with the articulation picture strips facing outward, alternating direction by layer.
HOW TO PLAY:
Play the game following the normal Jenga rules, except that when a student successfully pulls out a block, he or she must say the word pictured and/or use the word in a sentence…. With only one hand the first player removes a block from anywhere below the highest completed layer. The player may touch the blocks to find a loose one. Place the removed block on top of the tower. Wait for about 5 seconds. If the tower falls the player is out. If the tower stands, the next player is up. Be the last player to stack a block without causing the tower to crash and you are the winner!!!
The game can be played solo, by trying to beat your own highest tower.
