I used this when starting a new activity with students to encourage cross-curricular engagement, especially with the ARTS.
Example, if the students are inquiring into World Peace, some engagements they could research could be:
-what composers have written about peace, i.e., Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and various folk song singers of the 60s and 70s; what are peaceful (or angry) chord progressions or melodies?
-how have visual artists represented peaceful scenes, and what typical color schemes do they employ?
-create artwork that reflects or contrasts peace versus discord (presented with tech)
-could you represent World Peace in drama via tableaux, mime, or a short play/skit?
-create a set of movements that reflect peace and conflict; adding music and visuals makes it more powerful - introduce the elements of movement from the physical education curriculum
