This lesson offers a beautiful rendition of "It is Well with my Soul" in signs. American Sign Language is its own language with a syntax different from English. However, the song can be sung and signed at the same time with practice.
For example, the words "good" and "well" are signed with the same sign. "It is well with my soul" is signed "All good with soul mine." The meter and rhythm match, so it is easy to "fit" the signs with the audible words as they are sung.
Hand drawn sign illustrations for this glorious old hymn are provided for all four verses and chorus. At the end of the signed version of the song, each sign is explained in words.
