Product Description
Transitioning from preschool to kindergarten can be a challenge to some children. The new environment, new teacher, new routine, and making new friends can cause some children to be anxious.

Here is a great lesson plan, The Kissing Hand, which we use during the first part of the school year to help support the kids during this transition and help with their social-emotional development.

It is important to keep in mind that these early experiences affect how the brain is wired and how children learn to handle these types of transitions. Early brain development research, suggest that nurturing environments can determine which connections are formed and kept.

The purpose of the Sign, Read, and Play collections are to enhance early literacy skills through the use of ASL (American Sign Language) and play to support the whole child and every child.

This lesson includes:
* Targeted Skills
* Highlighted Vocabulary to engage children using American Sign Language with graphics and additional recommended ASL words to use
* Suggested Souvenir Activity
* Exploration tips to use additional activities to extend the children's learning
* A Family Connection letter
