Students will work in pairs to convey meaning without using their voices.
Each student has a set of three questions that they must ask their partner (What's your favorite color, Where do you live, etc.) through gesture and pointing.
This activity is GREAT for students just starting out in American Sign Language (ASL), and can be used for ALL grades and age groups.
The purpose of the activity is as follows:
Students become acclimated to the “voices off” policy
Students practice stepping out of their comfort zone in order to communicate.
