BINGO GAME THAT BLENDS COMPREHENSION OF
NUMBERS, SHAPES AND COLORS

THERE IS ONLY ONE PAGE THAT IS IN SPANISH.
IT WILL BE VERY EASY TO MAKE THE SAME PAGE IN YOUR TARGET LANGUAGE.

This kit contains 12 BINGO cards (8 1/2 x 11) each with 12 squares. Each square on each "card" contains a different shape of a different color. Each card has all 12 shapes and all 12 colors, but no 2 cards have the same shape of the same color. For example, if you have a red circle on your card, no one else has a red circle, nor do you have another circle or another red shape on your own card. If I had not already been crazy before starting to organize this, it would have driven me CRAZY planning the lay-out.

There is a sheet provided which you can copy on paper or you can project it with your computer so that all can see it. It is a “key” to the numbering system.
Of course, you may create lists with the items numbered differently. Use higher numbers, or whatever you can think of doing.
This list is posted here on TpT with the numbers that call for certain shapes and colors so you can see what I am trying to describe.

This page contains two lists of 12 items.
The first list is SHAPES; the second list is COLORS.

You have another master to run a sheet with 2 sets of the numbers 1-12. Cut them and put them in a small box or basket. Draw 2 numbers. The first determines the shape; the second determines the color.

So you could draw 4 and 8.
IN THE TARGET LANGUAGE YOU SAY:
NÚMERO CUATRO: (the students) EL TRIÁNGULO
NÚMERO OCHO: (students) ROSADO
Class: EL TRIÁNGULO ROSADO
The person who has that places something on the bingo card.
But if you draw 12 and 8, you have to say:
NÚMERO DOCE: -- LA FLECHA
NÚMERO OCHO: --ROSADO
LA FLECHA ROSADA, making the correct change for the feminine form.

They are having to understand on several levels.
They hear the first number, then they must check for the name of the object on that list. They hear the second second number, they must check for the color.

#10 should actually be called “EL SEÑAL DE PROHIBICIÓN”
or you could say: EL SEÑAL GRIS QUE DICE “PROHIBIDO FUMAR”
Having lost several of my loved ones to cancer caused by smoking or by second-hand smoke, I am an avid enemy of smoking, so I try to include that symbol in many activities. For some reason the little ones LOVE saying PROHIBIDO.

I always laminate my materials before using them in order to preserve them for “future generations” of students. I hope you will be able to make the color copies without too much trouble.

I am retired after 30 years of teaching, but I am working 2 days a week at a small private school. I have classes from Kinder-HS.
