Students will create a series of artist trading cards (ATCs) using watercolors and collage. Students will learn how words have different meanings depending on context. Students will trade their ATCs with others to promote friendship and anti-bullying. Students will follow-up with post-project reflection and analysis, using critical response protocol. Designed by teaching artist, Bailey Earith, this project is perfect for both the classroom teacher as well as the art teacher. This lesson addresses Creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, decision making, following directions, & attention span. It includes adaptations for Special Education students.
