Product Description
Teaching your unit covering matter and atoms doesn’t have to be overwhelming or boring. My students love this fun domino activity and I bet yours will too!

Your students will be having fun and learning as they play a fun domino review game, complete a crossword, and add pages to their interactive notebooks. A worksheet to accompany the domino review game and a matching quiz are included, allowing you to easily check for understanding and add two grades to your gradebook!

These engaging activities makes reviewing vocabulary covering atoms and matter easy for you and fun for your students!

These activities work well as review after you’ve introduced the concepts of atoms and matter. However, I have used the domino game as an introduction with my Pre-AP classes. I allow students to use their smart phones or Chromebooks to research the vocabulary, which seems to add a challenge for my classes that tend to move faster.

These activities are a perfect way to engage students! I’ve found that my students really benefit from the activities, especially around test time. This lesson incorporates various activities to engage multiple learning styles.

A full answer key for all pages is included along with instructions of how I’ve used the domino game in my classroom. Step by step instructions for assembling and mounting the interactive notebook pages are also included.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

✔ Two versions of a fun and engaging matter and atoms domino review activity. Versions include a larger sized version perfect for groups and a smaller sized version great for individual review or a fun activity for early finishers.

✔ Full instructions on how to use the domino review in your classroom.

HOW I’VE USED THE LESSON IN MY CLASSROOM

I use this worksheet as a key component of my matter and atoms unit and for further review of key vocabulary.

Approximately two to four class periods in length (as a point of reference, I teach a 50-minute class). I generally have my students complete the domino activity and associated worksheet as classwork. After all groups have had a chance to do the activity I review the worksheet as reinforcement and then mount the pages in our interactive notebooks. The next day I give my students the quiz and then the crossword puzzle when they finish the quiz. I assign the crossword puzzle as homework if we run out of time. I like to use the half sheet crossword puzzle and add it to my students’ interactive notebooks. We generally complete all the activities in three or four days. Created by Mister Science
