PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Included in this is a class debate with two main debate topics about if slavery should be outlawed in the 1800s. Students will put themselves in the shoes of the the North and South before the Civil War begins. No research materials are included, as this is to be used as an assessment after learning about the events leading up to the Civil War. This is a great material to use directly before teaching about the start of the Civil War. The materials included are the debate outline, including two debate topics, a rubric for grading the debate, and note taking organizers for the students to use while conducting research pre-debate.
