Students will demonstrate understanding of propaganda from abolitionists by creating performances for the class based off of selections from David Walker, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Jacobs, and William Lloyd Garrison.

This activity includes:
-Directions for small groups
-Propaganda excerpts to be assigned to groups
-Student handout to take notes while other groups present

This student-centered learning activity requires students to critically analyze abolitionist propaganda, summarize the message and effectiveness of certain pieces, and provide a meaningful learning opportunity for their peers.
