This unit of work focuses on the Aboriginal Civil Rights Movement of the 20th Century. It is a very interesting topic to do especially to compare and contrast with the US and South African Civil Rights Movements occurring at the same time.
This unit is designed to be followed chronologically from slide 3-73. Teachers can pick and choose with subtopics are suitable to their curriculum.
This unit includes:
* Primary and secondary sources of photos, maps, film and audio
* Aboriginal Australian history from 1788 British Settlement to today
* 10 discussion and analytical tasks that ask students to examine and evaluate sources and research to form their own interpretations of historical ideas and events
* 2 Assessment Tasks with complete instructions and assessment rubrics (based on AusVELS History strands Level 7-10 but compatible with most Year 7-10 History curriculums worldwide in terms of historical skills and concepts)
