The About the Artist sheet is great to use at the beginning of the school year or semester. It is similar to my Getting to Know You sheets, but this is slightly larger and more colorful.
The prompts are fairly open-ended and can be interpreted in different ways.
This sheet can also be used as quick assessment of where your students are at with their fine motor, drawing, an creativity skills.
A few tips:
For best results, print in color onto size 11”x17” paper. The image is sized at 11"x17". If printed onto size 8.5” x 11” paper, have students draw and color a border on the sides.
I encourage the students to use words and pictures to complete their About the Artist Sheet.
Kids that finish early can add colorful designs to the background. Make the sheet a WORK OF ART!
The prompts are:
"Me-- a self-portrait"
"A Design of My Name"
"My favorite type of art is..."
"My age.." (encourage them to design a fancy artistic number)
"My favorite hobbies"
"I am good at..."
"I can get ideas from.."
