Your students will enjoy learning about the 16th US President, Abraham Lincoln, with this fun two-page Word Search and Fill-in-the-Blanks activity!
The first page is a word search puzzle with an added component – after all of the words on the list have been found in the grid, the remaining letters are used to fill in the spaces at the bottom of the page. The letters will reveal an interesting fact about the subject. The words can be found in the grid horizontally, vertically, diagonal, forward or backward.
The second page will have students fill in the blanks using words from the word search that will let them know the meaning of the word or how it relates to the subject.
People of all ages enjoy doing word searches. There is the challenge of looking for a word that may be written vertically, horizontally, diagonally, forward or backward. One gets practice in focusing, eye tracking, patience, vocabulary building, and a feeling of success while doing word searches. It is also a good way to improve reading speed.
