How many times a day do you answer the question "what did I miss?" Empower you students to use each other as a resource from the get-go with these templatized absence trading cards.
Each student should trade cards with at least one other student, but preferably up to four other students, that way, when one of them is absent, they can rely on their "absence buddies" to get the homework they missed, notes, etc.
Having a templatized card eliminates the social awkwardness of asking for someone else's contact information, which can be particularly challenging at the beginning of a new school year. Build the absence cards into your standard beginning-of-the-school-year routine, and never answer the question "what did I miss yesterday?" again.
