It can be very challenging to attend to the needs of an absent student, especially in a secondary setting where teachers often have more than one hundred students to track every day. These absent work forms are just the trick to not only get your absent students back on track, but to give you a quick glance at any given day. Simply run off as many copies of the forms as you like and place them in a binder or folder.
These forms are simple to use and highly effective. While marking attendance each period/block, jot down the names of the absent students in that day's block on the form. Then, either in the morning, throughout the day, or at the end of the school day, fill in the box with basic information an absent student would need to know. For extra effectiveness, why don't you add a pocket folder to your binder for worksheets and handouts the student missed? Have your absent binder ready to go by Day 1 and show your kids where they can find their work when they return to school.
