In this Webquest, students learn about ten of Europe's Absolute Monarchs. The monarchs included in this Webquest are: Cardinal Richelieu, Catherine the Great, Charles V, Elizabeth I, Frederick the Great, Ivan the Terrible, Louis XIV, Maria Theresa, Peter the Great, and Philip II.
Students complete guided research about each of the monarchs by using resources linked to a Google Site. On the site there is a page dedicated to each of the monarchs. Linked resources include articles and videos. All of the included resources are educationally reliable sources.
After students complete their research they reflect on their newly acquired knowledge through a reflection prompt that requires them to take a stance and defend their stance with specific supporting evidence.
Three files are included in the zip file: Monarchs Comparison Chart (which includes the link to the Google Site), Monarchs Reflection Prompt, and Monarchs Reflection Rubric.
